I found more comments regarding implemented tone control in CA-X35 (or CA-X30), where classical bass treble regulation is requested. I know that inserted chips are not able to support it. But anyway i see possibility how to improve user experience of equipment with existing chips, only with changing of SW (Firmware). Basically problem is with bass reproduction. Used equalizer has not enough bands and even existing frequency to which is tuned are unacceptable for real usage. There is lowest controlled frequency 63Hz. For practical regulation is inevitable to move down to 30Hz. Installed chip (PS8950) is supporting tuning of frequency for equalizer (by control word), has more band for equalizing and also bass management (for boosting of bass). I can propose more solution, from simplest to complex.
1. changing of equalizing frequency (31,44,63,125, 500,1k,2k5,5k,10k,16k) or have two sets of custom EQ frequencies
2. adding of equalizing frequency on low end (31,44,63,150,300,600,1k,3k,5k,10k,16k,20k), more will be better
3. allow define equalizer frequency for custom EQ
4. on top of previous, adding bass management, summing of filtered HPF signal tuned on 30Hz and amplified by 10-12dB, switching on/off in menu
I think, that mentioned ideas are applicable for realization and hope that some of them will find your support for implemntation.

Dear all,
I use my N15D only as UPnP renderer.

Replaygain
My music is streamed by minimserver, all files are tagged by replaygain-album and replaygain-track.
Currently, I use Bubble UPnP and convert the stream. Than I can choose the replaygain modus: off, replaygain-track, or replaygain-album
The developer of app Hi-Fi-Cast told me, all renderers receive the tags from the ap.
For me as user I want to do it from every device, o.g. from PC.
At GitHub I asked for it regarding to gstreamer:
https://github.com/hzeller/gmrender-resurrect/issues/37
There you may find a way to solve it by two (virtual) players on one system, it possible also valid at your system.

I asked for it also in the German forum, but no answer.
I think this would help to improve your system and this may also help for to improve the your embedded replaygain on the system server.

gapless by alternative apps
Additionally, I would appreciat if gapless would work at alternative apps wich controll UPnP.
With Music X the device plays gapless but not by my other apps (Hi-Fi Cast and Bubble UPnP).

Thanks in advance for a answer, it doesn't matter if you avoid it.

Fact: Modern home equipment (PC, NAS, Router, Switch, etc.) are equipped with Ethernet LAN communication protocols that use 'Gigabit' (1000 Mbps) speed.
Since the weakest link in a chain determines the strength of the chain, the X10 determines the maximum speed (100 Mbps) in the LAN.

I would like to get an X10 firmware update to enable 3TB SATA hard disks. Currently I run my brand new X10 from a 16 GB USB stick and I will wait with buying a hard disk until the X10 is ready to accept this.

In my NAS (Network Attached Storage), I use a 3TB SATA hard disk for more than a year now, so it is not very exotic anymore. Modern 'green' ones use low energy, are silent, produce little heat and are moderate in price (€ 120).
