  I have a question for the admin: 
  
  I am currently thinking, the X10 without internal hard drive to operate and instead use an external SSD HD via USB. Is this a full alternative path? In particular: Can the X10 then make the data available as a server via DLNA in the LAN, as it does with the built-in HD?

  Yes. There is no difference between internal and external HDD regarding the services., but the speed for datatransfer will be slower by an USB Drive.
